Microsoft Build 2025, Microsoft’s annual innovation conference was held in Seattle this May. It delivered a wave of exciting innovations, especially in the realm of AI, automation and productivity. From powerful new tools for developers to smarter ways for businesses to interact with data, this year’s announcements are all about making technology more intuitive, integrated and impactful. Here’s a breakdown of the top features we’re most excited about and what they mean for you. Listen to Tristan, our Chief Technology Officer, discuss the most noteworthy announcements in the video below, or keep reading to see the highlights in full. 1. Agent Store: A marketplace for AI agents First up, Microsoft unveiled the Agent Store. This is a centralised marketplace where users can discover and deploy AI agents built by Microsoft, partners and internal teams. Think of it as the App Store for AI agents. Whether you’re looking for a customer service bot, a data analysis assistant, or a workflow automation agent, the Agent Store makes it easy to find and integrate the right tools into your environment, with no coding required. 2. Dynamics 365 data in Microsoft 365 Copilot Another new announcement from the conference was that Microsoft 365 Copilot now has native access to Dynamics 365 data. This includes sales orders, support cases and invoices. This integration supercharges Copilot’s ability to provide context-aware assistance. You can draft an email and have Copilot automatically pull in relevant customer data or invoice history for seamless efficiency. 3. Computer Use Tool: Smarter RPA with AI Microsoft also unveiled a Computer Use Tool which allows Copilot Studio agents to interact with any website or desktop application. It enhances Robotic Process Automation (RPA) by using AI to adapt to changes in application layouts and autonomously determine next steps. This tool brings resilience and intelligence to automation, reducing maintenance and increasing reliability for business-critical workflows. 4. Frontier Agents: Research and analysis reimagined Next on the list, Frontier Agents. These are advanced AI agents that can analyse data across SharePoint, Teams, Outlook and OneDrive to generate comprehensive insights. These agents act like supercharged research assistants, pulling together information from multiple sources to help you make better decisions faster. They’re perfect for analysts, strategists and knowledge workers. 5. Turn pages into Word Documents Also announced was a new feature that lets users convert agent output pages into Word documents with a single click. This streamlines the process of editing, formatting, and sharing AI-generated content. Whether it’s a report, summary or proposal, you can now polish and distribute it effortlessly. 6. Chat with Data in Power BI Power BI’s Q&A feature now supports natural language conversations with your data. You don’t need to be a data scientist to get insights. Just ask questions like “What were our top-selling products last quarter?” and get clear, visual answers instantly. It’s data analysis made conversational. 7. Agent Feed Microsoft also announced the Agent Feed. It provides an inbox-style view of what your autonomous agents are doing: completed tasks, pending actions and where human input is needed. This gives users transparency and control over AI operations, helping teams stay informed and intervene when necessary. It’s like having a project manager for your digital workforce. 8. Code-first apps on Power Platform Developers can now build code-first applications and deploy them directly on the Power Platform, integrating with tools like Power Automate. This bridges the gap between pro developers and low-code environments, enabling more complex, scalable solutions while still benefiting from the Power Platform’s rapid development capabilities. 9. Security enhancements in Purview Microsoft also has rolled out major security upgrades, especially within Microsoft Purview, to enhance monitoring and data governance. As AI and automation become more embedded in business processes, robust security is non-negotiable. These enhancements ensure your data remains protected, compliant and well-managed across the Microsoft ecosystem. The bottom line Microsoft Build 2025 is a clear signal that the future of work is intelligent, integrated and increasingly autonomous. Whether you’re a developer, business leader or everyday user, these innovations are designed to empower you to do more, with less effort and more insight.
